Title: Data Analyst

Location: Framingham, MA (hybrid, Tuesday to Friday in office)

About this role:

Olaris is looking for an individual to join the team responsible for the analysis and interpretation of Olaris' metabolomics platform. This candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end data analysis of Olaris CLIA pipelines. This is a hands-on position, and the candidate is expected to collaborate with our research scientists, the leadership team, and external partners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end data for the CLIA process, including quality control (QC), sample tracking, and data processing and analysis.

• Develop solutions for the acquisition, evaluation, processing, and analysis of clinical and molecular data obtained internally or from external partners.

• Process and integrate various data types into harmonized and actionable data sets.

• Design, deploy and manage solutions that support F.A.I.R. data standards.

• Develop API-based processes to allow a seamless integration with external repositories.

• Work closely with the lab teams in the analysis and validation of Olaris NMR and MS outputs.

• Work closely with the data science team in the processing and integration of molecular and clinical data.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, bioinformatics, biostatistics or related fields.

• 1-3 years of industry experience working with molecular and clinical data.

• Proven ability to independently maintain a full stack data processing pipeline, including EDA, ETL, visualization, and reporting. 

• Working proficiency with programming language Python or R, as well as its integration with databases and external repositories.

• Working proficiency with SQL, cloud environment (Azure preferred/AWS/GCP).

• Proficiency in working in a UNIX environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication; and ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences simply and clearly.

 

Qualifications preferred:

• Master’s degree in computer sciences, bioinformatics, biostatistics or related fields preferred.

• Experience working in a diagnostic company.

• Experience working with NMR/MS, metabolomics data preferred.

• Experience in working alongside data scientist team.

• Working experience with data pipeline tools (Mage/Apache Airflow), database management system (Postgres), and web framework application (Shiny).

• Ability to work independently.
